Marquez, Borges and The Beatles

The issue of NOTOS Magazine looked into connections between music and literature and the article dealt with both Borges and Marquez's interest in the music of The Beatles.  Behind Marquez, who holds the White Album in his hand, sitting on a tiger-footed chair, are all four members of The Beatles in their iconic Sgt. Pepper costumes; they're all surrounded by Colombian orchids. Borges's illustration is quieter; he simply listens to the Beatles on the iconic Sony Walkman as he's sitting inside a plane; the other half of the illustration opens up into a labyrinth-like structure.
